Basic Policy

The KATO SANGYO Group will contribute to the creation of a sustainable society and aim for its own sustainable growth through its mission of "realize people's happiness by providing a rich dietary life"
To this end, we have identified four materiality areas and will work to resolve them to sustainably enhance our corporate value.

Sustainability Promotion System

We have established a Sustainability Committee chaired by the Representative Director and President Executive Officer.
Furthermore, four subcommittees have been established under the Sustainability Committee, one for each materiality item, to ensure an effective decision-making structure.

Decarbonization

Goal

  • Achieve end-to-end optimization from producers to consumers for decarbonization of the entire supply chain
  • Achieve carbon neutrality through energy conservation, energy generation, procurement of non-fossil energy, and the use of carbon offsets

2030 Target

  • 30% reduction in CO₂ emissions from FY2021 level

Food Loss & Waste

Goal

  • Build a platform to optimize the entire supply chain to reduce household food waste

2030 Target

  • Achieve zero product returns
  • Reduce food waste by 50% compared with FY2021
  • Effective use of food that needs to be disposed of

Resource Circulation

Goal

  • To reduce environmental impact, establish a distribution system that does not use plastics newly produced from petroleum or paper resources derived from forests that are not properly managed

2030 Target

  • Transition to alternative plastics in logistics materials and achieve 100% recycling of plastics
  • Sustainability considerations for all own-brand products

Diverse Workforce

Goal

  • To be a company where people with diverse abilities and values can play an active role in their respective positions

  • Create a safe and comfortable work environment by bridging the gender gap
  • Achieve a 100% paternity leave take-up rate (Note)Target on a non-consolidated basis

Acquisition of ISO 14001

To realize a society that co-exists with nature

To enhance efforts for environmental preservation, we have actively promoted acquiring ISO 14001 which is the international standard. As a result, we have acquired the certification in our 57 sites across the country.
